Aerial image of existing quarry.  The image of the original 2001 application

showing the full extent of the proposed Phase 3 previously shown here has been removed

since it is not representative of the current application.

The following views are believed to be realistic impressions of the visual affect

of the original 3 Phase application by Tarmac.  They do not apply to the current application

which is recommended for approval by the planning department.

The elimination of Phase 3 from the proposal results in a reduced extension of

the existing workings, with a deep excavation below the 135m contour.

This may result in the new workings dropping out of sight behind a new

ridge formed at that contour level.

For this reason, previous montage images of workings with Phase 3 omitted have been

withdrawn from this page as they are unrepresentative of the visual impact from

these locations.

If you are concerned about the visual and environmental impact of the proposed quarry extension lodge an objection with the Council planning department, local Councillor or MSP.   You can also contact the local newspaper with your concerns.
