The planning department concedes in its report to the Planning Board that the original Muir which was designated as a SINC in 1993 has mostly been lost to quarrying activities approved prior to designation."

This site lies outside the boundary of the proposed quarry extension.   It is unlikely to be disturbed by the operations, although it does not seem unreasonable to incorporate some safeguards for the site in proposed planning conditions.
